History
Dating from 1874, the B-listed villa Spiersfield House was constructed as a grand manor. After more than a century of occupation, it was sold and converted into a 15-bedroom care home, with a modern extension added to the property. In August 2024, a large fire affected most of the original furnishings and caused irreparable structural damage. This prompted the council to schedule the building for demolition and remove Spiersfield House from the B-list.
