History
Constructed in the 1990s, the shopping centre was one of the largest in Portugal when it opened. Its four floors contained more than 400 units, including shops, a cinema and bowling, and initially attracted thousands of visitors each week. According to locals, the mall charged excessive rates to store owners. As tenants left, the complex lost revenue and eventually went bankrupt. Before closure, only 23 of its hundreds of units were occupied and customer traffic was also very low.
